Event Overview
The Twilight Trot and Sunset Stroll is a community sporting event held in Duluth along the shores of Lake Superior. This second annual gathering supports the Covenant Ability Network of Minnesota and features multiple participation options for runners and walkers. Participants navigate the local Lakewalk, utilizing a course that begins and finishes at the Lakewalk Endion Station.
Course Details
The event utilizes an out-and-back format on the paved Lakewalk trail. Participants are required to stay on the right side of the path to accommodate traffic moving in both directions. The routes pass through several local landmarks:
- Twilight Trot 5k: Runs along the lake walk, passing Leif Erikson Park and the rose gardens before returning toward Canal Park.
- Sunset Stroll 1 mile walk: Heads south-west toward the aerial lift bridge before circling back to the finish line.
- Virtual Twilight Trot: A 5k distance that can be completed at any location for those unable to attend in person.
Participant Information
Participants have the option to lock in a race shirt by registering before September 1st. Those who engage in fundraising activities for the Covenant Ability Network can earn various items based on donation tiers, including winter hats, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. Results for the competitive portions are posted online following the event. While there is no dedicated parking at the start line, local parking ramps and lots are available within walking distance of the park.
