Twilight Red Rock
Twilight Red Rock is an evening road race held on the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive near Las Vegas. The event offers three out-and-back distances, all starting and finishing at the exit of the Scenic Drive at about 3,800 feet elevation.
The race takes place as daylight gives way to night along a paved scenic drive that remains open to vehicular traffic. The course is coned to allow roughly one quarter of the roadway for runners; athletes are asked to stay to the right and allow others to pass. Visibility requirements include a 360 degree reflective vest and a handheld flashlight or headlamp; additional reflective accessories are recommended.
Aid stations along the course provide water and Gatorade in cups and can refill personal bottles; select stations carry gels and extra provisions. Portable toilets are available at the start/finish and at specified on-course locations.
There is no participant or spectator parking inside Red Rock Canyon on race day. Bus transportation is provided from a main free lot and an optional Strip bus pickup. Race entries include a technical shirt, a finisher medal, post-race refreshments, onsite medical support, and eligibility for awards. Awards include overall and age-group prizes with overall winners excluded from age-group awards; placements are determined by gun time.
The route passes desert vegetation and offers views of canyon walls and distant Las Vegas lights as evening falls. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
