Twilight Mile Mania
Twilight Mile Mania takes place at the Waverly High School Track in Lansing, Michigan. This track-based event focuses on middle-distance running with several heats organized by age and predicted pace. The competition is timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, ensuring accurate results for all participants.
The event features a variety of distances and categories:
- 200 m fun run for children ages 10 and under.
- 400 m fun run for children ages 10 and under.
- 1 mile races for youth, divided into age groups 10 and under and 11 to 14.
- 1 mile races for women, separated into heats for those running a 9:00 pace or over and those running between 6:00 and 9:00 per mile.
- 1 mile races for men, including a heat for paces from 5:00 to 9:00+ and an elite heat for runners capable of sub 5:00 minute miles.
The evening includes on-site amenities such as a DJ, a photographer, and refreshments. Participants in the children’s races receive small giveaways including ribbons and temporary tattoos. Awards are provided for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female masters. These prizes are distributed on a rolling basis following the conclusion of each specific heat. Proceeds from the event support local cross country students and charitable organizations.
