This fifth annual event is organized through a collaboration between the Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority, Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports, and the Alabama Marines Foundation. The course features more than 20 obstacles, which includes a Marine regulation O-Course.
Participants can choose from various categories including competitive individual slots, open heats, and specific team categories for Military, First Responders, JROTC, and Greek organizations. The event structure includes several distances and age-specific formats:
- 1 Mile: Mini Recruits course for children aged 4-8.
- 4 Miles: Competitive individual, open, and designated team heats.
- 4.5 Miles: Junior Commandos course for participants aged 9-12.
The event program spans two days. Activities begin on Friday with kids races and a family night featuring food trucks during packet pickup. The main races for adults and teams take place on Saturday. The organizers have updated the course from previous years to include new obstacle additions. All participants must register within the designated windows for their specific category, with fees varying based on the event type and team status.
