Turtleman Triathlon
The Turtleman Triathlon is described as Minnesota's first and longest-running triathlon. It takes place at Turtle Lake Park in Shoreview, Minnesota.
Participants can choose between two main distances and variations:
- Sprint Triathlon: 0.5-mile swim, 12.5-mile bike, 3.1-mile run.
- Olympic Triathlon: 1-mile swim, 25-mile bike, 5.5-mile run.
- Aqua Sprint: 0.5-mile swim, 12.5-mile bike.
- Aqua Olympic: 1-mile swim, 25-mile bike.
The event features a self-seeded, time-trial swim start. The bike and run courses are noted as flat, with some shaded trail sections on the run. Athletes can also participate as a relay team.
A professional photographer will be on-site. Free parking is available across the street from the park. There is a post-race barbecue, weather permitting.
Packet pickup occurs on race morning. Awards are given to the top overall male and female athletes, as well as the top three in each age group. Participants must be present to receive their award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
