Turtleman Triathlon
Turtleman Triathlon is a multi-distance triathlon held at Turtle Lake Park in Shoreview, Minnesota. The event features both Sprint and Olympic distances along with aqua-only options and relay teams. The venue offers calm lake water, a flat bike course, and shaded sections on the run course.
Race distances include:
- Sprint Triathlon .5 mile swim, 12.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Olympic Triathlon 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 5.5 mile run
- Aqua Sprint .5 mile swim, 12.5 mile bike, no run
- Aqua Olympic 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, no run
The swim start is self-seeded time trial format. Para divisions are available and participants may compete as relay teams. Packet pick-up is at Turtle Lake Park and includes race bib, timing chip, event shirt when selected, and a finisher medal. Participants are required to wear the timing chip on the left ankle.
On-site services and amenities noted for the event include free parking across the street from the park, a professional photographer, and a post-race barbecue when weather permits. Awards are given to top overall male and female athletes and to the top three finishers in each age group; award winners must be present to receive awards or arrange for shipping at their own cost.
