Leeds Country Way Winter Ultras
The Leeds Country Way Winter Ultras are two consecutive point-to-point ultra-marathons that circumnavigate the city of Leeds using local footpaths and trails. The event uses Garforth and Greengates as the start and finish locations and follows the Leeds Country Way route in a clockwise direction. Day One is the longer LCW South and passes Swillington, St Aidan's RSPB, Methley, Lofthouse, Batley, Morley, Tong, Pudsey and finishes in Greengates. Day Two is the LCW North and passes Apperley Bridge, Horsforth, Golden Acre Park, Eccup, Harewood, Bardsey, Thorner and Barwick in Elmet before finishing at Garforth.

Practical information
Terrain is primarily public rights of way, footpaths, bridleways and minor lanes. Entry is limited to 150 runners and the minimum age is 20. Entrants must have completed at least one marathon or ultra-marathon within the last four years and be able to give an example. There is a 10-hour time limit each day with a halfway cut-off procedure.
Mandatory kit includes hat and gloves, waterproof jacket with taped seams, minimum 500 ml water, headtorch or torch, whistle, emergency food, map and route description, survival bag, foil blanket, mobile phone and a cup for aid stations. The event provides a hot meal at the end of each day, bag transfer to the finish, drop-bag transfer to the halfway point, hot drinks at key locations, a wooden finisher medal and a finishers poster. Navigation is largely unmarked; GPX files are available and a printed race map is recommended. Crews and pacers are allowed with specific restrictions and runners must carry their own mandatory kit.
