Turnhouse Hill Race
Turnhouse Hill Race is a traditional hill running event held from Flotterstone car park within the Pentland Hills Regional Park (EH26 0PR). The senior course covers 5.2 km with 310 metres of ascent and descent, while a junior course covers 2.2 km with 160 metres of ascent.

The route is mostly on tracked paths but the main ascent and descent to and from the summit are steep. The steep climb to the summit goes through heather, so hill shoes are advised. The race start lies a short jog up the glen road from the Flotterstone car park.
Parking at Flotterstone is limited; marshals will assist with parking and car sharing is encouraged. Additional parking may be available at the Flotterstone Inn. Public transport options include bus services to the Flotterstone Inn and services to Penicuik that require a short jog to the start.
Facilities are limited, with toilets behind the Pentland café and no changing or showering facilities. The event is run under SHR rules; competitors must carry full body cover appropriate for conditions and a whistle. The course will be marshalled and a compass is not required.
