Turner Recovery House 5K Turkey Trot
The Turner Recovery House 5K Turkey Trot is scheduled for 11/22/2026 at Schreiner University Trailhead Beer Garden in Kerrville, Texas. The event includes a community 5K run/walk plus a separate kids dash.
Turner Recovery House is a nonprofit men's sober living home whose mission is to provide a safe living atmosphere for the recovering addict or alcoholic and to bridge the transition between treatment and community living. The house has served the Kerrville area since 1971 and reports that hundreds of men have passed through its programs. The interior received extensive remodeling in 2023 and organizers plan exterior improvements.
Event activities on race day include late registration and packet pickup at the Trailhead Beer Garden, a warm up and stretch session, a kids dash, the 5K run/walk, and an awards and recognition ceremony after the races.

Entry fees are listed as $40 for the 5K and $20 for the Kids Dash. Awards are planned for the Kids Dash (12 and under) and for the 5K by overall male and female plus age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The event policy states that no refunds will be issued; if the race is canceled for reasons beyond the director's control, race packets including shirts will be available for pickup at a designated location announced in advance.
