Turkey Vulture Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The event takes place on November 26, 2026 at Crystal Mountain, 12500 Crystal Mountain Dr, Thompsonville, MI 49683, during Thanksgiving Reconnect Weekend. Two running options are offered.
- 5K on the Mountain Center Road course
- 1 Mile fun run
Online registration opens September 15 and closes November 25. Pre-registration fees are $25 for the 5K and $10 for the 1 Mile fun run. Day of registration fees are $40 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 Mile. The first 100 5K registrants receive a water bottle. Race supplies are available for advance pickup at the Park at Water's Edge on November 25 from 12pm to 4pm. Race day check-in is in the Kinlochen Lobby outside The Thistle.
The 5K will use chip timing; each runner receives a bib with a small electronic device that records their time as they cross the starting line and the finish line. Awards for the 5K include commemorative medals for the top three men and women in each age group and a Crystal Mountain prize pack valued over $200 for the overall male and female winners. All fun run participants receive a finisher medal. An awards ceremony will take place at the Lodge Pavilion Tent, slopeside near the Crystal Clipper.
