North Mitten Half Marathon : Event overview
The North Mitten Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run takes place on June 6, 2026 at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, Michigan. This is the 12th annual running of the event. Distances offered include:

- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Registration opens December 31, 2025. Listed entry fees are $79 for the half marathon, $49 for the 10K, $36 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. The half marathon is open to ages 12 and up; the 10K is open to ages 8 and up. Advanced lodging reservations at the resort are required and recommended.
Course, awards and other details
Courses include a mix of open trail, dirt road and pavement and are described as primarily flat without climbs up the mountain. The half, 10K and 5K are chip-timed events. All finishers in those races receive a custom wooden finisher medal. All 1 Mile Fun Run participants receive a custom bib and a North Mitten sticker.
Awards include prizes for top overall male and female and top three in each age category. Age groups range from 14 & under up to 75+. Packet pick-up is held at the Crystal Mountain - Mountain View Room on Friday and Saturday, with Friday pick-up recommended. Volunteers are requested for aid stations, street crossings, registration and tree planting.
The event includes eco-focused practices and a pledge to donate a portion of proceeds to North Sky Raptor Sanctuary; all proceeds from the 1 Mile Fun Run are designated for that partner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
