North Mitten Half Marathon, 10K, 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run : Crystal Mountain Resort
The event takes place at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, Michigan on June 6, 2026. It offers multiple distances on courses that mix pavement, trail and dirt roads. Routes are described as primarily flat and do not climb the mountain. The main races are chip timed and all finishers in the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K receive a custom wooden finisher medal.
Distances:
- Half Marathon : 13.1 miles; 20% pavement, 20% single track, 60% dirt roads
- 10K : 6.2 miles; 50% pavement, 50% hard-pack trail
- 5K : 3.1 miles; 80% pavement, 20% hard-pack trail
- 1 Mile Fun Run : 1 mile; fundraising event for North Sky Raptor Sanctuary
Packet pick-up is held at the Crystal Mountain Mountain View Room on Friday and Saturday, with a strong recommendation to pick up on Friday. A live awards ceremony is planned at the event tent; awards must be picked up in person.
The event includes age group awards and overall awards; top overall male and female in each race receive a hydration backpack and prize pack, and prizes are awarded to the top three in each age category. The organizers pledge several environmental practices, including donating one tree per participant to the North Mitten PLANT A TREE project and directing proceeds from races to North Sky Raptor Sanctuary.
