North Mitten Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The North Mitten event takes place at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, Michigan on June 6, 2026. The program includes multiple race distances held at the resort with lodging available on site; advanced reservations are required and a special room rate is offered with code MITTEN.

Courses combine open trail, dirt road and paved sections. Routes are described as primarily flat and do not climb the mountain. The half marathon, 10K and 5K are chip timed. All finishers of those distances receive a custom wooden finisher medal; 1 Mile Fun Run participants receive a custom bib and a sticker.
Awards include a hydration backpack and prize pack for the top overall male and female in each race, prizes for the top three in each age category, and an entry drawing for a river kayak. Age groups are established in standard ranges from 14 and under through 75 plus. Packet pick-up is held at the Crystal Mountain Mountain View Room on the days before and the day of the event; fun run bibs are available on race day.
The organizer emphasizes eco-conscious practices, including reduced single-use plastics, compostable supplies when needed, local sourcing, and a pledge to donate one tree per participant.
