First Run
First Run is a two day running event held at Valley River Inn in Eugene, Oregon on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The event offers both run and walk options on measured 10K and 5K courses with a common start and finish on the bike path directly behind the hotel.

Both courses use local bike bridges and park paths. Runners cross the Greenway Bike Bridge into Maurie Jacobs Park and complete a short loop around a soccer field before returning to the finish. The 10K includes two out and back sections and extends over the Owosso Bike Bridge past Marist High School. Water stations are available on course and routes will be marked and marshaled.
Timing and awards will be based on chip time using bib chips. There are themed prizes for male and female champions in each distance for each day and medals for the top three in each age division. A cumulative time challenge covers completing both events with awards based on total time. Entry fees vary by age and by single or both day entry. Long sleeve tech shirts in red are available for an additional fee and have an early shirt cut off date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
