DPS Education Foundation Turkey Trot 2026
The DPS Education Foundation Turkey Trot is a community running event held on November 26, 2026 in Danville, Virginia, with the start and finish at American Legion Field. The course runs along the Dan River on the Riverwalk Trail.
Event distances:
- 400 yards for Children's Fun Run (age 12 and under)
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
The event is organized by the Danville Public Schools Education Foundation in partnership with the Danville Otterbots and the Danville Running & Fitness Club. Proceeds support programs, initiatives, and scholarships for Danville Public Schools students and teachers.
Registration opens June 23, 2026 and closes November 24, 2026. Entry fees are reported as follows: Children's Fun Run is free for participants 12 and under if an adult is registered for the 5K Run or Walk; 5K pre-registration is $35 and $40 on race day; area students 17 and under are $25 pre-registration and $30 on race day. Race day registration accepts cash and check only; checks should be made payable to Danville Public Schools Education Foundation.
Registrants who register by November 13, 2026 will receive a long-sleeve performance shirt; shirts after that date are subject to availability. Trophies and medals will be awarded in age categories including 0-14, 15-19, every 10 years up to 69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
