Glenwood Springs Turkey Day 5K & Fun Run
This event on November 26, 2026 takes place at Veltus Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The 2026 course is new and follows the Roaring Fork River, using the Rio Grande Trail and the Midland Avenue path. Runners and walkers will see views of Mount Sopris and travel on stroller friendly pavement.
Distances offered include:
- 5K race open to ages 6 and up
- 2K fun run open to ages 6 and up
- 5K Little Turkeys free for ages 5 and under
- 2K Little Turkeys free for ages 5 and under
Online registration fees are listed as $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 2K for participants ages 6 and up; race day in person fees are higher. Registration opens October 18, 2026. Race t shirts are an optional $15 upgrade and ordering by November 15 is required to guarantee size.
The 5K includes podium awards by age divisions: masters 40 and over, adult 20 to 39, youth 15 to 19, junior 11 to 14, and kids 10 and under. Winners in the 5K will receive homemade pies as awards. Finish line refreshments include pie, hot cocoa, and cider. Parking at Veltus Park is limited; designated public parking and overflow lots are provided nearby.
Proceeds support the Roaring Fork Phoenix Youth programs and the Glenwood Springs Elementary School Parent Teacher Association. One dollar per paid entry and ten percent of additional donations are directed to the school PTA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
