Turkey Dash 5K and 2 Mile Walk : Watertown, SD
The event takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, with start and finish at Great Plains Lutheran High School in Watertown. The program includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 2 Mile Walk
The event is hosted by the DASH Program at the Watertown Police Department, with Great Plains Lutheran High School providing a warm location for gathering. Organizers will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals to the male and female of each division. Door prizes will be drawn after registration closes on Wednesday, November 25 and those prizes will be handed out during packet pick up; participants must be present to win door prizes and awards.
Packet pick up opens at 9:00 AM. Registration details and fees are:
- $20 per person (ages 13 and over)
- $5 per child (ages 3–12)
- Children 2 and under are free; no registration is needed and no shirt will be provided for them
Registration closes at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. Organizers order long sleeve shirts in advance; registering before the shirt order is placed improves the chance of receiving a shirt in the requested size, though only limited extras are available. Pumpkin pie, hot apple cider and hot chocolate will be served after the event. Organizers will automatically post results on race day; participants may connect a Twitter account if they wish.
