Turkey Burn 2026
The Turkey Burn is an annual running event held on Thanksgiving Day in Greenwood, Indiana. This year, the event moves to a new location at Freedom Park. The race continues a tradition established over ten years ago, focusing on community and family participation. All proceeds from the event are donated to The Refuge, a local organization.
The event features two primary distances to accommodate different ages and preferences:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 1.5 Miles Kid Run
The Kid Run is specifically for participants aged 12 and under. This short race takes place before the start of the 5k and features a celebrity turkey character that runs alongside the children.
Registered participants in both the 5k and the 1.5 Miles event receive a shirt and a medal. However, those who register after November 1st are not guaranteed these items. In addition to the race entries, separate registration options are available for purchasing a hoodie or a long-sleeve shirt without participating in the runs.
