Winter Night Trail Run
The Winter Night Trail Run takes place on Saturday, January 9, 2027, at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis (7602 Eagle Beach Drive, IN 46254). The event offers two distance options run on a 6.55 mile loop that is nearly all single track trail.
- Half Marathon, two laps of the 6.55 mile single track loop
- Quarter Marathon, one lap of the 6.55 mile single track loop
Aid stations are placed on the loop with water and Gatorade or equivalent; half marathon participants have an additional stop at the start/finish area. Portable toilets are available at the start/finish and at each aid station. A headlamp or flashlight is required for all participants. Runners start in timed waves of about 30 to 40 to spread participants on the course, and timing is by a bib tag system with disposable chips attached to the back of the bib. Bibs should be worn on the front torso area and kept uncovered so the timing chip reads correctly.
Top three overall awards are presented promptly when the third place male and female finishers cross the line; age-group awards are given to the top three males and females in each listed category. The event provides a finisher medal, an optional long-sleeve race shirt add-on, and free downloadable race photos. The event does not offer a virtual option and entries are non-refundable.
