Tunnel Vision - Market Harborough
Tunnel Vision is a pair of out-and-back running races held on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th November 2026. Each race covers a distance of five miles and follows a route that includes the 422 m Oxendon Tunnel. The tunnel is pitch black by design; organisers provide mood lighting only and participants are required to use a headtorch or small handheld torch. The Dawn Run takes place the morning after the Night Run and includes the additional element of running at sunrise.
The surface outside the tunnel is a hard packed track suitable for road or trail shoes. The tunnel surface is uneven with ruts and puddles. Professional first aid will be available at the start and finish, and Race Harborough volunteers will be positioned on course, at the tunnel entrance, and at the turnaround point.
Entries are priced at £23 for a single race and £40 for entry to both. The minimum age for competitors is 14 years and entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Pre-event collection of race numbers, timing chips, and pre-ordered t-shirts is available at Harborough Leisure Centre on Wednesday 4th November. Free parking is provided at the Leisure Centre courtesy of Everyone Active.
Petzl is the title sponsor and will have staff on site to discuss and demonstrate headlamps. All finishers receive a commissioned event medal; medals from the two races interlink if both are completed. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Finishers receive refreshments after each race, and free digital race photos are made available after the event. Race merchandise can be pre-ordered up to three weeks before the event; no t-shirts or hoodies will be sold on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
