Event overview

Tunnel Vision is an out-and-back 5 mile running event organised by Race Harborough, scheduled for Thursday 5 and Friday 6 November 2026 (dates TBC). The event comprises two separate races - a Night Run and a Dawn Run - and entrants may enter one or both. The minimum age for competitors is 14 years. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event.

Course and location

Both routes run along Brampton Valley Way and include a passage through Oxendon Tunnel, a 422 m former railway tunnel. The tunnel will have mood lighting but remains dark, so runners are required to carry a headtorch or small handheld torch. The tunnel surface contains ruts and puddles; the general course surface is hard packed track suitable for road or trail shoes. The start area is situated off Scotland Road, behind the Protheroes garage, with signage from Northampton Road. Parking is free at the nearby Harborough Leisure Centre (LE16 9HF).

Support, prizes and extras

Professional first aid will be available at the start and finish with access to the course. Race Harborough volunteers will be positioned on the course, at the tunnel entrance, and at the turn-around point. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers. All finishers receive a commissioned event medal; medals from the two races interlink. Participants receive post-race refreshments specific to each run, and free digital race photos will be provided. The event supports local foodbanks and offers entrants the opportunity to donate. Registration collection is available the day before at Harborough Leisure Centre.
