Tunnel Vision Night and Dawn Runs

Tunnel Vision is an out-and-back running event centred on the Oxendon Tunnel. The course is a 5 mile route that includes a run through the 422 m long tunnel. The organiser stages both a Night Run and a Dawn Run on consecutive days; entrants may enter one or both events. The tunnel will have mood lighting but participants are required to use a head torch or handheld torch while passing through it.

Entries, kit and support and facilities

Entry fees are listed as £22 for a single race and £39 for both. The minimum competitor age is 14. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Pre-event collection of race numbers, timing chips and pre-ordered race shirts is available at Harborough Leisure Centre on the day before the races; parking at the Leisure Centre is free. The surface is hard packed track, suitable for road or trail shoes; the tunnel surface has ruts and puddles. Professional first aid will be available at the start and finish, and volunteers will be positioned on course, at the tunnel entrance and at the turn-around point. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. All finishers receive an event medal; medals interlink for those who complete both runs. The Night Run finish includes a hot drink and biscuits; the Dawn Run finish includes orange juice and a croissant. Race merchandise can be pre-ordered up to three weeks before the event.
