Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Twin Cities, MN
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Farmington, Minnesota, is a community event on May 16, 2026 that honors first responders and remembers those lost on September 11, 2001. The event benefits the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and supports programs for first responders and members of the military.
The event is a 5K (about 3.1 miles) open to walkers and runners. Registration categories include adult, first responders and military, youth (ages 13 to 17), and child (12 and under) with different fees for each category. Online registration opens on January 7, 2026, and day of race registration is available the morning of the event.
Packet pickup is available Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Dakota County Fairgrounds, 4008 220th St W, Farmington, MN 55024, and on the morning of the race prior to the start. All finishers receive a medal. A water station will be available along the route and at the start and finish areas. Service animals are allowed; other pets should not be brought to the event.
Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted, and firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also allowed. Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment. Emergency medical service will be on site and radio communication will be available on course. Donations and fundraising are accepted after the event for a limited period, and registration fees do not count toward fundraising totals.
