Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Lyndhurst, OH
The Tunnel to Towers 5K in Lyndhurst is an inaugural community run and walk held to honor first responders, remember the events of September 11, 2001, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The event features a single distance of 5K (3.1 miles) and is presented as an experiential run and memorial.
Participants must wear and display their bib on the front of their outermost garment. The event is currently not timed and awards are focused on participants who run in firefighter, police, or military gear in the spirit of the Tunnel to Towers mission. Runners forecasting a pace faster than six minutes per mile will be seeded toward the front corral.
Online registration remains open until the start of the run; day of registration opens at 7:00 AM with an additional $5 fee for late registrants. Registration categories and fees include adult $25, first responders and military $20, youth 13 to 17 $10, and child 12 and under $5. Registration fees do not count toward fundraising totals. Transfers between participants are permitted; refunds are not provided.
Packet pickup is available Friday June 26 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Second Sole Lyndhurst, 5114 Mayfield Rd., and Saturday June 27 from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM at Lyndhurst Municipal Complex, 5301 Mayfield Rd. A water station will be on the course and water will be available at the square. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted; firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. Emergency medical services will be on site and radio communication will be available on course. Fundraising pages can be created after registration and donations will be accepted for six weeks after the event; fundraising incentives require completion by August 31, 2026.
