Event Overview
The Cleveland Scottish Games 5k is an inaugural event held as part of the Ohio Scottish Games & Celtic Festival. It takes place at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Cleveland, Ohio. The event features two race distances: a 5k Run and a 1 Mile Run.
Race Details & Awards
All participants receive admission to the Scottish Games Festival, a T-shirt, and a participation medal. The T-shirt is guaranteed for registrations submitted before a specified date in June. Awards are given to the top three finishers in standard age groups for both male and female participants across the 5k and 1 Mile runs. There is a special award category for the fastest runner wearing a kilt in each distance, though wearing a kilt is not required. The overall male and female winners of the 5k race receive a genuine Scottish quaich.
Festival Context
The running event is integrated into a larger festival celebrating Celtic heritage. The festival includes activities such as heavy athletics, a Renaissance Village, and Celtic music performances.

Early registration fees are $35 for each distance, with prices increasing for later registrations. Course maps for both the 5k and 1 Mile routes are available online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
