Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Baton Rouge, LA
The event is a community run and walk in Baton Rouge that includes a 5K and a separate 1 mile kids fun run. It is held in October at a location listed as 427 Laurel St., Baton Rouge, LA 70801. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Robert A. Bogan Fire Museum.
Registration is organized into categories with published fees for adults, first responders and military, youth, and children. Day-of registration is possible, but late registrants may not receive a shirt and their run/walk may not be timed. The registration fee does not count toward any fundraising goal.
Race operations include a water station on the route and water at the start/finish area. Emergency Medical Service personnel will be on site and radio communication will be available along the course. Participants must display their bib on the front of the outermost garment; runners without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.
Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted. Roller blades, skateboards, and pets are not allowed unless the dog is a certified service animal with proper paperwork. Donations can be made after the event; online and offline donation options are provided and donations are accepted for six weeks following the event.
Awards focus on participants who run in firefighter, police, or military gear to reflect the event purpose. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
