Tunnel to Towers 5K Run and Walk - Baton Rouge, LA
This event is a 5K (3.1 miles) run and walk in Baton Rouge that honors those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and supports first responders and military personnel. The course will include distance markers at 0.5 mile, 1 mile, and 2 miles, and water will be available along the route and at the start/finish area.
Packet pickup is at the Robert A. Bogan Fire Museum, 427 Laurel St., Baton Rouge, LA 70801, on October 17 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Day-of registration is available; participants who register the morning of the event may not receive a shirt in their requested size and late registrants may not be timed. Online registration categories and fees listed for this event include: Adult $25, First Responders and Military $20, Youth (13 to 17) $10, and Child (12 and under) $5.
Bibs must be displayed on the front of the outermost garment; participants without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted; roller blades, skateboards, and pets are not allowed unless the animal is a certified service dog with documentation. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are permitted; personal items are stored at the owner’s risk.
The event includes simple awards that often recognize firefighters, police, and military who run in gear. Emergency medical services and radio communication will be available on site. Registrations do not count toward fundraising totals. Donations and team fundraising are accepted, and offline donations can be mailed to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at the provided mailing address for the Baton Rouge 5K.
