Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Baton Rouge, LA
This event is a 5K (3.1 miles) run and walk held in Baton Rouge to honor first responders and support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The course includes markers at 0.5 mile, 1 mile, and 2 miles. Awards are given with an emphasis on firefighters, police, and military participants who run in gear.
Packet pickup takes place at the Robert A. Bogan Fire Museum, 427 Laurel St., Baton Rouge, LA 70801 on October 16 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Day-of registration opens at 7:00 am; same-day registrants may not receive a shirt and late registrants will not be timed. Registrations can be transferred to another person, but registration fees are nonrefundable.
Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment; runners without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish. A water station is available on the route and water will be provided at the start and finish area. An Emergency Medical Service team and radio communication will be on site.
Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted. Roller blades, skateboards, and pets are not allowed unless a certified service dog with proper paperwork. Registration categories and fees include Adult $25, First Responders and Military $20, Youth 13 to 17 $10, and Child 12 and under $5. Donations are accepted for six weeks after the event and registration fees do not count toward fundraising totals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
