1 Million Steps 2 Safety 5K Run/Walk

The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission hosts the 1 Million Steps to Safety event at the Louisiana State Police Headquarters in Baton Rouge. This in-person run and walk is organized to recognize Pedestrian Safety Month and brings together road users from across Louisiana. The event focuses on promoting highway safety through community engagement and education.

Participants can choose from the following distance:

The event course is located at 7919 Independence Boulevard. Registration includes an adult-sized t-shirt for participants, with sizes ranging from small to 3XL. Following the run and walk, the event schedule includes various post-race activities. The mission of the organizing commission is to improve road environments and reduce injuries through proactive safety initiatives and the implementation of new technologies.
