Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Big Pine Key, FL
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Big Pine Key takes place on November 21, 2026 at Big Pine Community Park, 31009 Atlantis Dr., Big Pine Key, FL 33043. This is the event's fourth annual edition and it raises funds for Tunnel to Towers programs while honoring first responders and remembering September 11, 2001.

Packet pickup is available the day before the event on November 20 at Big Pine Key Community Park (31009 Atlantis Blvd) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with food from Pops BBQ (10% of proceeds to the foundation), a U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute presentation, a 9/11 mobile exhibit, and a drone show. Bibs and shirts can also be picked up the morning of the event at the venue when registration opens.
Online registration remains open through November 20, 2026 and closes at race time. Day of registration is accepted at the venue with a $10 increase for most categories; First Responders are exempt from the increase. Listed registration fees include Adult $25, First Responders and Military $20, Youth 13 to 17 $10, and Child 12 and under $5. Registration fees do not count toward individual fundraising totals.
Course and logistics: a flat, closed road course begins near Big Pine Community Park, passes through surrounding neighborhoods, and finishes back in the park; a portion of the route is uneven. Water stations are available along the route and at the start and finish. Bibs must be displayed on the front of the outermost garment. Placement awards are given, with several awards reflecting participation by firefighters, police, and military in gear. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted; firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. Parking is available at the park with overflow on neighboring streets; participants are asked not to park in driveways or on private property. An Emergency Medical Service team and radio communication will be on site. Donations are accepted for six weeks after the event. Transfers of registration are permitted; refunds are not provided.
