Sugarloaf School PTO Fins Up 5K Run/Walk & 1M Kids Fun Run
The Sugarloaf School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) hosts the Fins Up 5K Run/Walk and a 1M Kids Fun Run. This is the fourth edition of this event.
The event takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Upper Sugarloaf Key, Florida. The start and finish location is the Sugarloaf School Shark Park at the corner of Crane Boulevard and US Highway 1.

The Kids Fun Run is open to participants aged 1 to 11. All proceeds from the event support the Sugarloaf School PTO, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Participants for both events will receive t-shirts and sponsor giveaways. T-shirts are only guaranteed for registrations completed on or before March 13. Parking is available in school lots and along Crane Boulevard, but not on the bike path.
Course details The 1M Kids Fun Run consists of two laps on the Sugarloaf School Shark Park track. The 5K Run/Walk course begins at the school track, proceeds north on Crane Boulevard to the National Key Deer Preserve barrier, loops around, and returns. One aid station with water and electrolytes will be at the turn-around point.
Awards The Kids Fun Run is not timed. Awards will be given to the top three boys and top three girls. All finishers receive a medal. The 5K Run is a timed event with awards for the top three overall males and females, top male and female masters (40+), and age group awards (three deep). The 5K Walk is also timed, with awards for the top three males and females.
Rules Official race numbers must be worn and visible. Strollers are allowed, but users should be aware of gravel areas and narrow sections on the course. Pets, bicycles, skates, scooters, and skateboards are not permitted. Littering on the course is prohibited.
Bib and packet pick-up is available on Friday, March 27, at the Sugarloaf School Pick Up Circle, and on race day morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
