Tule River Parkway Boo Run 5K & 10K
The Tule River Parkway Boo Run takes place on October 31, 2026 at Fallen Heroes Park in Porterville. The event features a festive Halloween-morning atmosphere with costumes, decorations, music, and activities for families, runners, and walkers. Costumes are encouraged but not required; participants are asked to use costumes that do not block vision or create tripping hazards.
Both courses run along the Tule River Parkway, a paved pedestrian and bicycle trail that follows the Tule River. The 5K uses a shorter out-and-back course; the 10K continues farther along the Parkway before returning to the park. The walk/run will begin after a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new trail section.
Fallen Heroes Park provides on-site amenities including restrooms, playgrounds, pavilions, and picnic areas for participants and families. During the event the Tulare County Association of Governments will give away bicycle helmets while supplies last.
The Boo Run is the Tule River Parkway Association’s only annual fundraiser. The association is a local nonprofit focused on restoration, protection, development, and public enjoyment of the Tule River corridor. Its work includes maintaining a 2.7-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail, more than 32 California native plant gardens, educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and ongoing Parkway improvements.
