About the race
The event combines a beer mile held in downtown Exeter with a separate kids Elf Run. The beer mile uses local establishments as drinking stations and a four lap course that circulates through Downtown Exeter, with beverages provided by local bars including The Stag Saloon, Bell Craft Brew Co., and The Rock Yard Tavern. Participants must be 21 years or older to take part in the beer mile. Two race formats are offered for the beer mile: an individual entry where one runner consumes four 12‑oz beers and completes four laps, and a four person relay where each teammate drinks one beer and runs one lap.
Awards include trophies for the top three individual men and women and for the fastest four person relay team, plus prizes for Best Dressed Participant and Best Dressed Relay Team. The Elf Run is a children’s fun run through Downtown Exeter with age based distances and encourages holiday costumes. Registration for the Elf Run includes an official race bib, a participant medal, photo opportunities with Mr. & Mrs.
