True Grit QLD at Albert River Wines
True Grit QLD is an outdoor, military-inspired obstacle event held at Albert River Wines in Tamborine QLD on 8 and 9 August 2026. The course uses the site’s natural terrain and combines running with a series of constructed obstacles and carries.
Distances offered:
- 10km Elite - Timed competitive wave, prizes, 16+ years
- 10km - Classic True Grit course, 16+ years
- 5km - Shorter course with fewer obstacles, 12+ years
The 10km course includes 30+ obstacles and the 5km includes 15+ obstacles. Named obstacles for this location include A Frame, Monkey Bars, Rope Up, Pontoon Bridges, Sandbag Carry, Tyre Wall, Cargo and The Big Climb. Obstacles are adapted to the terrain and may include longer carries and climbs.
Entry options include team entries, solo waves and an Elite category. Elite participants must attempt every obstacle and incur a 20 burpee penalty for each failed obstacle; top finishers receive prizes. Minors under 18 require a guardian waiver. Typical completion for the 10km course is around 1.5 to 2.5 hours for an average participant. Event services noted include on-course water, finisher t-shirt, Staminade electrolyte drink, optional finisher beer, access to medical treatment, parking at $10 per vehicle and on-site camping available to book soon.
