Race #1 Kuitpo Forest - Kuitpo Hall, Kuitpo SA
This trail event is based at Kuitpo Hall in Kuitpo Forest, located in the South Mount Lofty Ranges near the township of Meadows. The reserve covers about 3,600 hectares of plantation and native bushland and was established in 1898 to provide a sustainable timber resource for South Australia. The area is managed for sustainable commercial forestry, conservation of native flora and fauna, and community recreation.
Courses traverse a mix of pine plantation and native bush with wide forestry roads and some single tracks. Participants will pass through tall pines and native vegetation and can expect varied surfaces and scenic forest views. Routes and maps are subject to frequent change because of forestry logging operations and are published close to the event.
Event features include drink stations with water and lollies, well marked courses, medals for placegetters, and post-run food and sponsor tents. Parking may be restricted depending on numbers and ground conditions.
