Race #2 Mount Misery : Fox Creek Bike Park, Lenswood
This trail running event takes place at Fox Creek Bike Park Upper Car Park on Croft Road in Lenswood, within the Cudlee Creek Forest Reserve in the Mount Lofty Ranges. The course runs through native bushland and includes sustained climbs, viewpoints at the top of Mt Misery, and sections of both fire trail and single track. The area supports abundant wildlife, including Eddie the Emu.
Organisers offer multiple course lengths with recorded elevation gains, aid stations with water and lollies, and nutrition on course. Runners must remain ahead of course sweepers because cutoffs and closures are strictly enforced. Placegetters receive medals, and there is a members-only random draw with sponsor-donated prizes. Post-run provisions include fruit, nibbles, brownies and a short massage service.
The long course is listed as a UTMB® Index race and an ITRA National Challenge event; the event notes that the courses do not attract ITRA points. Routes and maps may change because of forestry operations; participants are advised to download final maps shortly before the event. Walkers may only take part in the shortest event to ensure return before course closure. A free kids cross-country run of about 1–1.5 km is held near the finish line with a committee member leading and a tail runner in place.
