TRSA Trail Championship - Mount Bold (Race #5)
This event is held at Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve on Mount Bold Road, Kangarilla SA. The reserve surrounds the reservoir and includes more than 5,500 hectares of land with native vegetation and conservation significance.
The courses run on trails through stringybark and manna gum woodlands, swamps and creeks, with elevated sections offering panoramic views across the dam wall and over the Mount Lofty Ranges. The event offers multiple distances, including an extra-long option.
- Extra long - 35 km
- Long - 25 km
- Medium - 19 km
- Short - 10 km
- Kids X-country - 1 km
Race logistics include drink stations providing water, Tailwind and lollies; participants must bring their own drinking container. Placegetters in each championship event receive trophies and there is a members-only random draw. An optional lunch at Anvers Wines is offered after the event. Course cutoffs are strictly enforced and runners must remain ahead of course sweepers. Walkers may participate only in the short event to ensure return before course closure.
A free kids cross-country run of about 1–1.5 km takes place near the finish line and is led by a TRSA committee member or delegate; adult accompaniment is preferred. Parking may be restricted depending on entry numbers; detailed parking instructions are provided in the race briefing.
The long and extra long courses are UTMB Index races and ITRA National Challenge events; the courses do not attract ITRA points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
