2026 Burra Burra Trout Trot 5K : McCaysville, GA
The Trout Trot 5K is scheduled for April 25, 2026 in McCaysville, Georgia, with the McCaysville Visitor Center and Fannin County Chamber of Commerce listed as the event location. The course is 3.1 miles and is fully paved. The route crosses the state line twice between McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN, follows the Toccoa River, and passes through the downtown areas of both towns. The course includes one hill and has different start and finish locations; timing is based on gun to chip under USATF Rule 245.
The event is part of the Riverwalk Run Series, which also includes two other seasonal 5Ks and awards a challenge item to participants who complete all three. The Trout Trot coincides with Blue Ridge Trout Fest, Georgia’s official trout festival. Both in person and virtual 5K options are offered. Shirt and bib pickup is handled at the McCaysville Visitor Center.
Awards are given to overall female and male finishers and in age groups starting at 0–9 and continuing in decade increments up to 80 and older. All finishers receive a medal. Free parking is available across from McCaysville City Park. Post event activities noted for the area include live music and local festival programming.
