Trot to Troy
The Trot to Troy is a running and walking event held in Weston, Nebraska. The race is organized in conjunction with the Weston 150 celebration. Participants start at the Weston Water Tower, located near School and Princeton Streets. The route leads through the rolling hills of the Bohemian Alps, heading from the current town of Weston toward the original historical location of Troy.
The event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- 8 Mile
- 5K
- 1 Mile
The course traverses the landscape between Weston and the former site of Troy, a village that was eventually moved north to its current location to be closer to the railroad line. The original site of the town is now marked by a cemetery.
Participants who register by June 1 are eligible to receive an event T-shirt. Logistics for the event include an early packet pickup held at the Weston Fire Station on Elm Street the day before the race. On the day of the event, packet pickup is available at the Water Tower starting in the morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
