Gravel Worlds Triathlon & Duathlon : Branched Oak Lake, Nebraska
The Gravel Worlds Triathlon & Duathlon is a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event held at Branched Oak State Recreation Area near Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday, August 21, 2026. The event serves as the 2026 USA Triathlon Gravel National Championships for both triathlon and duathlon and uses chip timing.
Racing options include traditional swim-bike-run triathlons, run-bike-run duathlons, and a multiday challenge called The Triple that spans three consecutive days: swim, gravel bike, and gravel run. The bike course is draft-legal, allowing riders to form groups during the bike leg.
Distances (approximate; subject to final course conditions)
- The Full Triple: 3 km swim, 150 mile bike, 50 km run
- The Half Triple: 1.5 km swim, 75 mile bike, 25 km run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, ~13 mile bike, 5 km run
- Intermediate Triathlon: 1,500 m swim, ~28 mile bike, 10 km run
- Sprint Duathlon: 1 mile run, ~13 mile bike, 5 km run
- Intermediate Duathlon: 2 mile run, ~28 mile bike, 10 km run
Age-group and category podium finishers receive USA Triathlon medals. The top 18 athletes in each age group will qualify for the Cross World Championships in Edmonton, Alberta in July 2027; qualified athletes receive instructions from USA Triathlon. Participants must have a current USA Triathlon membership or obtain a one-day license. Race week also includes an expo, group rides and runs, and other community activities.
