Trossachs Trundle

The Trossachs Trundle is a 22.4 mile challenge event organised by LDWA - Heart of Scotland. The circular route starts and finishes at Kirk Hall in Callander and circumnavigates Loch Venachar, with a total ascent of 3350 ft (1020 m).

The course leads from Callander to Bracklinn Falls, then over Callander Crags with views towards Ben Vorlich and Stuc a' Chroin on one side and Loch Venachar and Ben Ledi on the other. The route joins the Rob Roy Way to the first checkpoint at Bochastle (7.6 miles), follows the Great Trossachs Path above the north side of the loch to Brig o'Turk (13.7 miles), crosses the Black Water and passes Achray Farm before returning along the south shore. There is a checkpoint at 19.1 miles and the final section runs through Coilhallan Wood back to the HQ. The surface is mainly good tracks, paths and private roads.

Event administration details include entries opening on 23 March 2026 and closing on 5 September 2026. The minimum age is 16. Entry fees are listed as £22 for LDWA members and £25 for non members, and the entry list showed 19 participants at the time of publication.
