Trossachs Trundle

The Trossachs Trundle is a challenge event organized by the Heart of Scotland LDWA local group. Measuring approximately 22.4 miles (roughly 37 km), the route consists of a circular circuit that begins and ends at Kirk Hall in Callander. The course circumnavigates Loch Venachar and features a total ascent of 1020 meters (3350 ft).

The route utilizes a variety of terrain including tracks, paths, and private roads. From the start in Callander, the trail leads toward Bracklinn Falls and over Callander Crags. This section offers views of Ben Vorlich, Stuc a' Chroin, Ben Ledi, and Loch Venachar. The path continues through the town to join the Rob Roy Way, reaching the first checkpoint at Bochastle after 7.6 miles.

The middle section of the walk follows the Great Trossachs Path along the northern side of Loch Venachar to a second checkpoint at Brig o'Turk at 13.7 miles. The final stages cross Black Water and pass through Achray Farm before returning along the south shore of the loch. A final checkpoint is located at the 19.1 mile mark, with the trail concluding via Coilhallan Wood back to the event headquarters.
