Trossachs Trundle
The Trossachs Trundle is a 22.4 mile circular challenge event that circumnavigates Loch Venachar, organised by LDWA - Heart of Scotland. The route includes approximately 3350 ft (1020 m) of ascent and is intended for walkers and runners. The start and finish are at the event HQ at Kirk Hall, Callander (FK17 8BN).
The route leaves Callander and goes up to Bracklinn Falls, then over Callander Crags with views towards Ben Vorlich and Stuc a' Chroin on one side and Loch Venachar and Ben Ledi on the other. Participants then descend back through Callander and join the Rob Roy Way to the first checkpoint at Bochastle (about 7.6 miles). The route continues along the Great Trossachs Path to Brig o'Turk (about 13.7 miles), crosses the Black Water, passes Achray Farm and follows the south shore of Loch Venachar to a checkpoint at about 19.1 miles, before finishing through Coilhallan Wood to the HQ.
The course is mainly on tracks, paths and private roads. The event has a minimum age of 16. Entry fees are listed as LDWA member £22.00 and non member £25.00. Entries open 23 March 2026 and close 5 September 2026. The organiser is LDWA - Heart of Scotland and there are 20 participants entered so far.
