Event overview

The Buchlyvie 10k takes place in Buchlyvie, Stirling on 24 January 2026. Entry is limited to 300 runners and there will be no on-the-day entry. The race is organised as a Scottish Athletics licensed trail race and is run under UK Athletics rules. Race numbers include embedded timing chips and the event is chip timed.

Course, safety and facilities

The course is an out-and-back route that uses Station Road and the old railway track, mostly firetrack and flat, with one hill. The halfway turning point is at Barbadoes Cottage. Jelly babies and water are provided at the turnaround. The finish is at the school.

Safety provision includes marshals, Central Scotland Police support, first aiders, Lomond Mountain Rescue team assistance, a lead bike and a sweeper. Route maps are available in the village hall on the day and the course is signposted. Parking is available in the lay-by, on the Main Street and with limited spaces at the school car park; lay-by parking is stewarded. There are toilets in the hall and gender neutral portaloos in the hall car park; there are also toilets in the layby (20p). Refreshments and home baking are available for sale in the hall, and all entrants receive a biscuit, fruit, a medal and a goodie bag. Prize giving and timing slips are provided after the race.
