Trooperstown Hill
Trooperstown Hill is a summer mountain running event in County Wicklow organised under the Irish Mountain Running Association. It features a long route of 11.5 km with approximately 455 m of climb, a short course of 5.0 km, and a free Beginners’ Forest Loop of 2.2 km for walking or light running. The route is fully marked and GPS use is allowed. The event is part of the Leinster League and is rated Difficulty 7 for moderate terrain and ascent.
Entry opens 13 July 2026 and closes 15 July 2026. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. There is an overall entry limit of 250. The mandatory Level B kit must be carried and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag; organisers may finalise exact kit on the day.
Parking is very limited (about 80 places) and carpooling is mandatory; a riverside carpark is used for parking while registration happens at the MR Base, about a five minute walk away. Results will be posted in the event forum rather than the race results page. Organisers will collect running kit at registration for donation, and there is a prizegiving at Lynhams of Laragh after the event. The free beginners loop is not covered by IMRA insurance and children must be supervised. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
