Event Details
The Trojan Trot 5K Walk / Run takes place at Zoo Miami on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The event is a fundraiser for a school improvement fund and is described as its first-ever iteration.
Available Events
Participants can register for one of four main events:
- 5K Walk / Run: A professionally timed 5K on a scenic course.
- Peewee Trojan Trot: A non-timed fun run for children. It is open to ages 2-9, though originally listed for ages 3-9.
- Spectator + Zoo Entry: An option for non-participants that includes access to the finish line area and full-day admission to Zoo Miami.
- Spectator (NO Zoo Entry): An option for non-participants to access the finish line area without zoo admission.
What's Included
Registration for the 5K includes a swag-filled race packet, a timing chip race bib, an official race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and full-day admission to Zoo Miami. The Peewee Trot includes a race bib (no chip), a race shirt, a finisher medal, and zoo admission.
Registering by January 31, 2026, guarantees a race shirt and finisher medal. Ages 2 and under are free.
Event Features and Rules
The event features a "Finish Line Zone" with music, food, inflatables, and local vendors. Zoo Miami offers 750 acres with over 2,000 animals. Strollers are permitted but must start at the back of the race. For safety, scooters, bikes, skateboards, and dogs are not allowed on the course.
