Triple B Relay & Race - Bennington, NE
The Triple B Relay & Race is organized by the Bennington Public Schools Foundation and takes place on the Bennington Daze weekend in Bennington, NE. The event includes multiple in person race options plus a virtual option and is in its third year.
Available distances include:
- 1 mile fun run around the Bennington Elementary School track
- 5.25 miles course used by the Big B and Middle B relay
- 5 miles virtual option
The Little B is a 1 mile loop on the elementary track and includes a stroller lane. Week of race sign up options are available for the Little B, Big B, and virtual entry; those week of registrations do not include shirts or medals and are treated as donations to the foundation.
The Middle B is a relay intended for teams of 2 to 5 people. The race is divided into five legs, each about one mile. Teams with fewer than five people have runners complete consecutive legs so the team can regroup; the last runner reunites with teammates to run the final portion together into the Bennington Elementary stadium. A shuttle will transport runners who have finished their segments back to Bennington Elementary to await their teams.
The Big B follows the same route as the relay, touching three Bennington schools, the future high school site, and the district and foundation offices. The course includes paved roads, paved paths, and gravel topped sections. The virtual option allows participants to run or walk a 5 mile distance at a location of their choice, with proceeds supporting the Bennington Public Schools Foundation.
