Trio Rio Triathlon : May 30, Albuquerque, NM
The Trio Rio Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned reverse sprint triathlon presented by the City of Albuquerque Parks & Recreation Department. The event takes place at the Rio Grande Outdoor Pool and follows a reverse format: competitors start with a run, transition to a bike leg, and finish with a swim in the pool.
Race distances are:
- 5K run
- 16.2K bike
- 200y swim
The program includes an individual sprint triathlon and a 2-3 person sprint relay. Participants receive a technical race shirt and an official swim cap. Results are professionally chip timed. The organizer describes the course as safe and well organized.
The reverse order places the swim at the finish and uses pool facilities for the final leg. The event is positioned early in the season and mixes timed competition with organized race services typical of a USAT-sanctioned event. Race day logistics and further race day details are provided by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
