About the race
The Trinity 5000 Summer Series is a 12-race Thursday evening running series held on the Trinity Trails in Fort Worth, Texas. Races run from June 4 through August 20 with weekly events at the Trinity Trails Zero Mile Marker (parking near the Haws Athletic Center, 600 Congress Street).
Distances offered include:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1K Kids Fun Run
Weekly field size is limited; after 250 participants register each week, online registration closes until the next race. Participants who register for the complete series receive a single sturdy custom bib to use each week. Week 1 finishers receive custom finisher medals; weeks 2–12 award age-group medals. Recycled medals are provided to Kids 1K participants.
Event features listed for the series include a fast, flat course, water stops at mile one and mile two, free soft drinks and other refreshments, free parking, and an informal post-race gathering known as the Arbor Society. A point series runs across the summer with standings posted during the series; point series and age-group award categories cover a wide range of age groups plus Clydesdale/Athena and race walkers. Series Survivor awards are given to participants who take part in all 12 races in person and who are registered for every race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
