13th Annual Trick or Trot 5K
The Trick or Trot 5K is a community running event held in the Lakeview District of downtown Birmingham, Alabama. This 5 km race serves as a fundraiser for Kid One Transport, an organization that provides transportation to medical care for children and expectant mothers across the state. The event center is located at Back Forty Birmingham.
Participants have several ways to engage with the event:
- Trick or Trot 5K: An in-person running race through the city streets.
- Virtual 5K: A remote participation option for those unable to attend in person.
- Sleep In Support: A non-competitive registration tier that allows individuals to support the cause and receive a shirt without participating in the run.
The race is open to participants of all ages, and the use of strollers is permitted. Pets are also welcome to join the event. While not mandatory, participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. The event features a social media costume contest with categories for the biggest team, most spirited team, most spirited individual, most spirited child, and most spirited pet and owner combination.
Official timing is provided, with awards presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female masters. Age group awards are also distributed to the top three finishers in brackets ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over. Packet pick-up is available on the Friday prior to the race at Fleet Feet Birmingham or on the morning of the event at the race site.
