Trick or Trail: A Costumed 5K Trail Run – Wells Reserve at Laudholm
The inaugural Trick or Trail is a costumed trail run taking place on October 31, 2026, at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm. The Reserve comprises over 2,200 acres of conserved meadows, woods, wetlands, and a wild beach and is a National Estuarine Research Reserve with its headquarters listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The event is a trail race of 5K distance and will be officially timed. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Water stations will be available at the halfway mark and at the finish. Medals will be awarded to overall top finishers, best in age group by male and female categories, and best costume.
Reservations are required. Pricing is tiered: $35 through August 31, $45 from September 1 to September 30, and $55 from October 1 through race day. Bib pickup is available the day before, Friday October 30, between 1:00 and 4:00 pm in the Visitor Center, or on race day between 7:30 and 8:45 am. There is no minimum age to participate; participants under 18 must have a parent complete a waiver.
