The 12th Annual Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile presented by Aetna is a Halloween-themed road event held in Hendersonville’s Historic 7th Avenue District on October 24, 2026. The event offers in-person and virtual participation options.

Race features include chip timing for the 5k, a well-marked and spectator-friendly course, a commemorative finisher medal for all participants, goody bags, and event shirts for registrations completed by the free-shirt deadline on September 27. A costume contest is part of the event with award categories such as overall best-dressed kids, best-dressed individual, best-dressed friends or family, best-dressed pet, most original costume, and a novelty category for surprising costume choices. Winners receive prizes and are announced at the awards ceremony.
The event supports local causes. The Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County will collect new winter items including socks, beanies, blankets, gloves, jackets (sizes 5T to adult 2XL), sneakers, toys, and sunscreen; donated items must be new and unused.
