About the race
Triathlon Pink in Melbourne is a women-focused triathlon event held at Albert Park that combines a pool swim with a closed-road bike course and out-and-back or looped run courses. The event offers multiple triathlon distances and a series of fun runs, with categories that accommodate youth entries.
Most participants are new to triathlon and the event emphasises a supportive, community atmosphere. Transition areas are used for bike and kit changes; competitors receive a timing chip, swim cap, race bib and an event gift at check-in. Basic swim, bike and run procedures are outlined for competitors, including pool entry one at a time, walking bikes to the mount line, riding single file on the bike course, and keeping left on run sections. Headphones are not permitted for safety.
Fundraising for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is optional; Triathlon Pink communities have raised over $2.8 million for NBCF since the series began. Event logistics note parking access at Albert Park via Aughtie Drive and a temporary road closure on Aughtie Drive during the morning of the event. Beginners can attend a tips and tricks clinic the day before, and event photography is provided with links distributed after the race.
