About the race
Triathlon au Cœur de la Montérégie is a pool-start triathlon held in Saint-Césaire. The event takes place at the municipal sports and aquatic complex, on a site with multiple free parking areas and spectator access to pool stands and an athlete village. The event is organized locally and certified by the provincial triathlon federation.
The swim takes place in a four-lane, 25 metre pool with rolling single-lane starts every five seconds. Participants receive a swim cap in the athlete kit, are responsible for counting their own laps, and are not permitted to wear a wetsuit because the water temperature is warm and stable.
The bike leg uses a primarily flat loop on recently renovated roads, validated by the provincial federation. The course runs on closed and secured roads. Drafting and the use of headphones are prohibited. Riders must wear a helmet and must not ride their bike while in the transition area; jogging with the bike is required on exit and return. A bike mechanic is available on site.
The run is a flat 2.5 kilometre loop completed once or twice depending on distance category. Water stations are available on course and disposable cups must be placed in the provided bins. Finishers receive a locally made wooden participation medal.
