La Grande virée des sentiers du Mont-Saint-Bruno
La Grande virée des sentiers du Mont-Saint-Bruno celebrates its 21st edition within the Parc national du Mont-Saint-Bruno. This trail running event takes place in a natural setting of undergrowth and lakeside paths, featuring courses entirely free of vehicle traffic. Located less than 30 minutes from Montreal, the venue provides a forested environment for a community-focused sporting experience.
The event offers a variety of distances for different age groups and goals:
- 1 km: a distance reserved for children aged 4 to 9.
- 2 km: a course primarily for teenagers aged 10 to 17, also available for adults.
- 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km: races open to runners aged 14 and older.
Registration includes access to the national park, a personalized bib with an electronic timing chip, and on-course aid stations. After the race, participants receive a snack featuring fruit, muffins, and beverages. All finishers are presented with a participation medal and a technical t-shirt.
For logistical reasons, time limits are enforced for the 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km distances. The organizers allow bib transfers to another individual or for a different distance, provided spots are still available. The event also supports the Charles-Bruneau Foundation by offering an option to donate during the registration process. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
