Course and race procedures

The swim is a 600 m course that starts from the dock and finishes at the boat ramp; it uses a time trial format with athletes starting in race number sequence at five-second intervals. Swim caps are provided and must be worn; cap color identifies swim start position. Wetsuit legality is determined by a USAT official based on the race day water temperature, with wetsuits allowed when the water temperature is below 78 degrees.

The bike course is 10.9 miles and follows local roads including North Browning Bridge Road, Clarks Bridge Road, Bogus Road, and Napone Road. The course is marked with directional signs and mile markers every two miles. Turns are staffed by event personnel and uniformed sheriff officers; the course remains open to traffic.

The run is a 5 km route consisting of two laps on a paved walking path. Portions of the run course have runners traveling in both directions; runners should keep to the right. Transition bike racks are arranged to match assigned race numbers and athletes will be body marked with race number and age.

Parking and packet information

Parking is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis with volunteer attendants directing vehicles to primitive camping, beach, and horse-trailer parking areas. Course maps and race packet information are provided to participants. Aquabike athletes follow the same swim and bike courses as triathletes and are given a green wristband to distinguish them.
