Event overview
The Tri-State New York Spartan Event Weekend takes place at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. The course uses rolling hills, forests, grassy meadows and open trails. Course maps may be adjusted depending on conditions. Race formats and obstacles
Distances offered:
- Sprint - 5 km, 20 obstacles
- Super - 10 km, 25 obstacles
- Kids Race - 1-3 km with obstacles
Obstacles on the course include Atlas carry, A-frame cargo, barbed wire crawl, fire jump, inverted wall, bucket carry, Hercules hoist, multi-rig, rope climb, sandbag carry, slip wall, spear throw and a variety of walls. Each event includes signature Spartan obstacles plus additional location-specific challenges.
Participants receive event items for finishing that include a Sprint finisher medal and a finisher tee; completing a Sprint and a Super and Beast in the same year is noted as qualifying for a Trifecta medal. The event also lists festival-style elements such as a festival entrance and on-site features like camping availability.
