Tri McConnell Indoor Triathlon
The Tri McConnell Indoor Triathlon takes place at the McConnell Heart Health Center in Columbus, Ohio on November 8, 2026. The event uses indoor facilities and runs as timed segments with scheduled heats; each heat has a maximum of six participants.
Each participant completes three timed segments with two transition periods. The segments are:
- Swim: 10 minutes in a 25-yard pool (4 feet depth)
- Bike: 30 minutes on a stationary cycle
- Run: 20 minutes on a treadmill
The combined swim, bike, and run time is 60 minutes, plus a first transition of ten minutes between swim and bike and a second transition of five minutes between bike and run. Three lanes of the pool are used with two swimmers per lane. The run segment is located upstairs on treadmills.
Registration opens April 1, 2026 and closes September 29, 2026. The individual entry fee is $60. A relay team option is available for teams of two or three people; the team entry fee is $90. When registering a team, one person registers and pays for the team; all team members must also register to provide their information and sign the waiver. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Event results record distances for each segment and are reported by total distance and by ranked scoring. Proceeds benefit the OhioHealth Behavioral Medicine/Addiction Medicine Fellowship and support physician education related to opioid use disorder and related clinical and policy work.
