Event Format
The Tri McConnell Indoor Triathlon takes place at the McConnell Heart Health Center in Columbus, Ohio. The event consists of sequential swim, bike, and run segments performed indoors.
Distances and Structure
Each participant completes three segments:
- Swim for 10 minutes in a 25-yard pool.
- Bike for 30 minutes on a stationary cycle.
- Run for 20 minutes on a treadmill.
The total active time is 60 minutes, plus two transition periods. The first transition (from swim to bike) allows 10 minutes for participants to change and move to the cycle room. The second transition (from bike to run) allows 5 minutes.
Event Details
Participants compete in heats, with a maximum of 6 participants per heat. Three pool lanes are used, with two swimmers sharing each lane. The run segment takes place upstairs on treadmills. Scoring is based on the total distance covered across all three segments, with swim distances calculated from pool lengths.
