Tri Louisville
Now in its 13th year, Tri Louisville is a short-course multisport event held in Louisville, Kentucky, with race activities staged at the Brown-Forman Amphitheater and finishes in Waterfront Park. The swim takes place in the Ohio River as a point-to-point time-trial; race numbers are assigned by estimated swim time and late registrants start later waves.
Distances:
- Swim - Sprint 850 m, Olympic 1.5 km
- Bike - Sprint 11 miles, Olympic 22 miles
- Run - Duathlon first run 2.5 km, Sprint second run 3 miles, Olympic 6 miles
The bike course is fully closed through downtown Louisville along Waterfront Park. Participants walk their bikes to and from a marked BIKE MOUNT / DISMOUNT LINE. Sprint and duathlon bike legs use two loops; Olympic competitors complete four loops. The run follows Riverwalk paths through Waterfront Park, with duathlon first runs using an out-and-back section.
Race formats include triathlon, swim-bike, bike-run, aquabike, duathlon, and 2- or 3-person relays. Transition areas are organized by assigned race number and each athlete must pick up their own packet; photo ID is required. Timing uses disposable ankle-chip bands plus helmet, bike frame, and bib numbers.
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and wetsuit use follows USAT temperature rules, with specific permitted and mandatory ranges for wetsuit use. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
